Ok, So I have the SB3 combined with a Welborne PSU - that's my basic rig. I've also borrowed a CI VDA1 w/modded power supply to determine which sounds better and how to best use my SB3. So far, the PSU upgrade has improved the audio output of my SB3 immensely!
Now, in my preliminary comparison tests (using Stevie Wonder's superstition on FLAC), I'm finding that the modded VDA1 is sounding clearer and more resolved (albeit not by much) than the stock PSU/SB3, but also that the SB3 power supply is making a difference in the sound of the SB even though it is only performing as a transport. I'm a true believer in not fooling one's self and placeebo affecting the human perception, so my request follows: Can someone who has experienced the following chime in with their experiences? 1. SB3 + upgraded PSU vs. SB3 as a transport (stock SB3 PSU) 2. SB3 + upgraded PSU vs. SB3 as transport (upgraded SB3 PSU) Any upgraded SB PSU will suffice...
