Just for the record, the Welborne PSU is a 5V, 3A, linear, regulated PS
kit (can also come assembled for a fee) that seems to be light years
ahead of other PSU's when it comes to performance.  Even off the bat,
the voltage output is the steadiest I've ever seen in readings I've
taken over the years.  I have found more "noise" (read voltage output
instability) in batteries than I have from this PSU.  It is really a
remarkable unit.  look up www.enjoythemusic.com for some oscilliscope
measurements of the difference b/w linear reg'd and the standard
switching supplies - I believe the photos are courtesy of Bolder.
