okay, here is my way to get the files from LINN to work:

use the microsoft tool "wmal2pcm.exe" to convert WMA lossless to WAV.
the WAV will have the format 24bit 88.2 kHz.

then I used audacity to upsample them (with best settings possible,
high quality dither shaped and high quality sinc interpolation) from
88.2 to 96 khz.

use WAV export function but set it first to 24bit output in options.

to get the 96 kHz, you need to enter the "project sample rate" in the
small program taskbar in the lower left.

now all files play marvelous on the transporter and it also shows the
content playing at 24bit 96 kHz.

uncompressed 24bit 96 kHz WAV files are HUGE !!! double size than WMA
lossless.

but the sound!!! I've downloaded the Liszt piano tracks and I must
admit that I never ever have heard such a rich piano playing from a
digital source !!!

will download more very soon.

but still, a one click converter would be more than nice!
