OK, so I went ahead and tried this.  The listener had no idea what was
being tested; only that something was changed.  At first she thought
she could hear a difference between A and B (A was linear with stock PS
unplugged, B was stock).  So we did a single-blind ABX test.  At each
change I plugged and unplugged everything (whether or not is was
necessary) to avoid bias.  I didn't make any comments during the test.

We didn't get past the first trial - she at first said she thought X
was B (it was actually A) but wasn't sure and asked to listen to B
again.  After listening to B again she declared she really couldn't
tell and couldn't hear any difference, so we stopped.

Now, for all the people that hear a significant difference, it's your
turn...
