Well, since my pet theory is that audible differences come from the
interaction of components (in the hifi system and elsewhere), I won't
argue against you. Measured performance, stand-alone on the bench, is
long since "good enough" it seems.

Unfortunately "interaction" also includes the flawed SPDIF connection.
