I reckon that amp will probably convert A to D and process/upsample, so you may not get any improvement moving from an SB3 to a Transporter. Where you will get an improvement is moving from MP3 to FLAC, and making sure you connect digitally.
I'd buy an SB3 if you don't have one already, spend some money on your computer making sure you can rip quickly (or pay to have it done) and buy some more CDs :) If you don't want to use SlimServer, get a soundcard that has a digital out, if you don't use that already. That might be almost as good as the SB3.
