I have no proof on this, but it's my suspicion that the digital out in a receiver does not go through the DSP first. >From my manual: > The digital outputs can be connected to MD recorders, CD recorders, DAT > decks, or other similar components. It would truly suck if these outputs had the various DSP effects added to them - speaker level, tone, equalization, delay, etc. etc. That's definitely not what you want on a "line out" connection of any sort, analog or digital. I know most/all audiophiles think every HT reveiver sucks simply because it's an HT receiver but this one doesn't suck that much, really. It makes intrinsic sense that this is just a pass-through exactly like the analog outs. You just want to echo what came in, without any decoding or altering of the signal. -- Mark Lanctot "It's like, you know, a New Age religion, but with better treble response." - Jon Heal ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mark Lanctot's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2071 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=32967 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
