Just a little beyond the higher end of your bugdet, you should be able to get a very decent integrated amplifier and a pair of speakers. For amplifiers, some brands that you could look at, include NAD & Rotel as Joatca suggested; others would be Cambridge Audio and some entry level models from Marantz - Its hard to go wrong with these. For speakers, similarly, look at KEF, Mission, Monitor Audio, Mordaunt Short, B&W, Wharfedale, etc. As Mark suggested, Blue Jeans cables are good but not too expensive. I have personally had very good experiences with most of the audio stores I have visted, even if it was just to purchase a $65 pair of Grado headphones. If you tell us approximately where you are located, someone might be able to guide you to a friendly audio store in the vicinity. -- Nikhil ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Nikhil's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=993 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=33546 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
