My main home system... yeah, that's the shrine to the Gods of Music...

At work, I use headphones for anything music related. I have a
Panasonic RPC300 noise-canceling pair there that is great when it comes
to fulfilling its function of (a) isolating me from the world around me
(people have to be loud or physical); and (b) providing good audio
quality for the 192k MP3s I typically listen to in a work environment.
90% of the time very quietly, and mostly it is either new age relaxing
stuff or classical.

As far as satellite systems in the house go, I have a bunch of CD based
ones. I have historically always created favorites mic CDs that I''
listen to in different satellite systems - car, bedroom, kitchen,
garden, house gym. I plan on gradually buying SBs for all of these
systems, and perhaps upgrade/optimize them in the process where it
makes sense. I do *not* need the type of audiophile quality I have in
my main system in any of those remote places - I just need a sound
quality that is not offensive, and over time decent satellite systems
have come together for the bedroom, garden and the home gym system. The
"main system" in the living room serves as the ultimate audiophile
system when in fron of it, and also -because of the open area- as the
music server for the kitchen and dining room, all directly linked to
the living room the main system is in. The family room -on the other
side of the kichen- houses the TV and associated entertainment stuff (I
am not a TV person myself, though).

The periphery systems just have to offer solid sounf though, and I plan
on buying 2 SBs and one set of Aduioengine 5s very soon to extend the SS
realm!
