noise? /QUOTE

Yes, the main reason for analog attenuation is to get lower volumes of
noise, since the digital volume control is quite adept at lowering
music volume, but not the device's noise floor. The decrease in SNR
will be directly proportional to an increase in digital attenuation. I
suppose if the noise floor is below audibility it wouldn't matter
anyway, but it's good practice to keep SNR high AFAIK. It sounds like
you don't need much attenuation at all though (bypass output mod?), so
can probably focus elsewhere. My squeezebox doesn't make noise at half
volume anyway...

amps and suggested grounding the two monos together. I haven't tried
that yet. /QUOTE

I'd be curious to hear how that works out. I'm pretty sure quite a few
have used monos or powered monitors with a Sb.

due to their high bandwidth and high input impedance. Thanks for the
help. /QUOTE

My jolida integrated lists input impedance as "= or < 250Kohms" , and
doesn't have a problem re- noise.

I'm far from an expert, but thought an amp with high input impedance
was more ideal for interfacing directly with Squeezeboxen.
