Hi all Slim Fans. I just got a Transporter this week at the Open House and have been putting it through its paces. First impressions: better than expected on playing internet radio, especially classical (KDFC) - which is a pain to listen to on FM due to the static. It is amazingly easy to set-up and intuitive to use both the main unit and the remote.
I have been playing some FLAC files that I saved using EAC. The sound so far is quiet, a bit on the thin/cool side, with instruments being well delineated. Strangely with classical so far it feels a bit congested in terms of soundstaging but no so with rock/pop. Later this week, I will check out its DAC on CDs. For other transporter owners - how long did it take, if at all, for the transporter to break-in. Any similar findings? Does the sound get warmer and more palpable? I am running the transporter through a Qinpu integrated to Dali Helicon 400's using JPS wire. Thanks in advance and thank you all for your prior posts that helped make my decision to purchase the transporter easier. -- ImagineTT ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ImagineTT's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10852 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=33887 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
