I just tested a transporter setup into a pair of Atma-Sphere tube amps using balanced XLR cables. All we did was put the amps into standby mode (tube heaters on, but amplification turned off). Turned the transporter's volume all the way down and then turned the amps back on. After selecting some test tracks, we turned the volume up.. with a pair of M-60 (60W monoblocks) and some speakers (sorry, I don't remember the name) we got the system up to -13db for a reasonable listening level. The setup sounded amazing. I wish I would have had more time to level match and do some A/B testing between the TP connected to amps directly, and digital out to a BelCanto DAC2 + Atma-Sphere pre-amp. Just with a short listening test, I couldn't really hear a difference between the two setups. -- SuperQ ------------------------------------------------------------------------ SuperQ's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2139 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=34484 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
