No one is trying to debate whether you heard a difference or criticize what you are saying; we are simply trying to understand why there might be a difference. If the Mac Mini sounds better to your ears, then there is no doubt that you should use that over the SB. All of us are here to listen to the music we love at the best quality possible within our means - so whatever works for you is fine by us. I would have loved to try this myself, but my mini is an old G4 with no digital audio outs.
