There's another difference between SB3 and Transporter which might have an effect: the impact that RFI radiated by them and their power supplies may have on analogue components in the system. This issue is what much of this thread has been about. (If you want me to declare my position on the subject: I lean towards the view that RFI is more important that jitter).
