Thanks -- this worked. I was able to take measurements in Audacity
using my old Radio Shack analog SPL hooked directly to the line in of
my MacBook Pro (running Bootcamp/XP). No mic, no preamp, no external
USB audio card.

It's hard to assess the measurement quality of the RS SPL, but all I
can say is that using the 'normal' correction, I am very pleased with
the results. My system definitely sounds better -- tighter imaging,
wider soundstage and better mid-bass response. That said, the
improvement was noticeable but not wildly dramatic, probably a good
sign that nothing funky was going on.

So it seems there is a much lower barrier to entry to getting inguz up
and running. (It would be interesting for someone with both an RS SPL
and a high-end mic/preamp/external soundcard system to run a comparison
test.)

A couple of notes:

1) By changing the db sensitivity of the SPL (eg. 70, 80, 90 db) I was
able to the get the mic & line-in at the same input volume. (sort of
equivalent to a vol adjust on a mic preamp).

2) There was some audible background noise in the recordings, but it
didn't seem to hurt anything.

3) I was running my SB3 through my DAC/preamp. In terms of measuring
left/right, I just disconnected the unused channel from the amp. I
assume that this ok, and that the sweep tone is identical for both
channels.

4) I used DRC. I edited all of the .drc files to point to the
RSSPL.txt mic calibration file above. (I have a question about this
file which I'll post in another response)

If you'd like to see any of the the measurement or cal files, let me
know and I'll post them.

Thanks! Quite a revolutionary piece of software.

P.S. happy to beta test a mac version for you...
