Are there any sonic tweaks for the SlimServer or Squeezebox to get it to sound better? I did an A/B comparison between my modded Sony CD player and my Bolder modified digital only Squeezebox with the Welborne Labs power supply. When used as a transport playing the exact same digital files (EAC ripped WAV files), my modded Sony produces a more clear, refined, and pleasant analog-like sound with more focused imaging.
On different occasions and tracks, I tried feeding my modded Sony CDP, a stock Squeezebox, and the Bolder-modified Squeezebox into my 47 Labs DAC. The modded Sony was a clear winner. I also tried the analog outputs of the stock Squeezebox and modded Sony, but I preferred the sound of the outboard DAC. Any ideas? I'm currently running SlimServer 6.5.2 with firmware version 81. My entire audio library had been ripped to FLAC.
