Transcoding is one thing...doing proper SRC on-the-fly would be another without HW assist. The algorithm/SRC program I use cannot keep up with a playing stream on my PC and sucks nearly all my 2.6Ghz CPU while trying. Add to that transcoding from say FLAC to uncover the stream -- probably this would require the fastest HW on the market today to do both(multi-CPU)...... Mine wouldnt nearly cut it.
