Or Transporter II...  Actually, this is not a bad idea.  I think I
would seriously consider it if I was designing a network music player. 
The main part of the player could actually output a stream at the native
sampling frequency of the stream, which would then be converted by the
ASRC chip to the sampling frequency of the DAC.  This has two big
advantages:

1.  It's a relatively inexpensive hardware replacement for the CPU
power that would otherwise be required.

2.  Sampling Rate Conversion algorithms are tricky to get right.  This
is an inexpensive way of getting a very high quality conversion.

Benchmark apparently exploited the ASRC chip in their DAC1 by running
the DAC chip at what they claim is it's "sweet spot", arround 110 KHz. 
Also, they famously exploited the jitter reduction of the ASRC chip.
