Update, I went the non-techie easy route and bought a Iogear usb KVM switch, pretty cool little gadget for $44. Works perfectly and now I just hit a hot key on the keyboard to switch between computers. Alas there is a fly in the ointment, the old box is noisy, a high pitched whine that is very irritating. I have moved the box as far back under my desk as possible and have covered it with some foam padding I had lying around but I am still not pleased. I know the best way to fix this is move it somewhere out of listening range but it is hard wired into my router and I can not have a cable strewn from here to there. Does anyone have any suggestions?
