Hi guys I agree with Anne; a good Dac and upsampler is a definite improvement over the standard analogue out of the SB3. My particluar combination gives wonderfully warm and incrediably lush sound with marvellous imaging. Add a Burson buffer and you really have a magical combination. The standard SB Dac is good but to me sounds constricted and muddy in comparsion to an external Dac. Just my opinion. On a slightly relevant tangent - has any one compared a Bolder modded SB3 analogue out to an external Dac? As much as I love my Upsampler and Dac I would love to simplify the rack. Best Wishes Andrew
