Your post about a talkative wife and your thumbnail of Eraserhead
reminds me of my own situation:  I love quirky/disturbing movies --
generally speaking, my wife does not.  

When we do find something we can agree on, she usually asks
questions/talks during the film.  And unfortunately, she has the
uncanny ability to do this right in the middle of the most  dramatic
scenes.  So instead of getting pulled deeper into the film, it's like
someone pulled the plug on the TV.  Drives me crazy.
