Thanks Zanash and Killie99 I was vaguely aware of the Claymore's reputation but was somewhat surprised to learn that speakers of that calibre (and expense) would be required. I think the 'final build' of my little project will be pushed back a little until I remortgage next year. In the meantime I can carry on my research (and work on persuading the wife!!!). I know she's very anti floorstanders at the moment (but she did like the speakers on Ebay, Zanash - work that one out!!!!) so I may look towards smaller enclosures for the time being. Would a pair of Tannoy or Mordaunt Short's be out of the question?? Given the varying quality of my musical collection (not too many FLAC or EAC's at the moment) would some sort or add-on equalisation/tonal control be advisable???
I would be very interested in your custom build cabling suggestions Zanash but would suggest that we converse within the forum at the moment. Hopefully that may help those in a similar position to me.
