Hi,

I browsed through the forums and didn't find any clue about my issue. I
have some native 48kHz / 24 bit files, that I downloaded from Linn site
in FLAC format. I use the latest version of Slimserver and a SB3
wirelessly connected.

When I play the FLAC files transmitted as FLAC to the SB3, everything
goes well. When I ask slimserver to transmit the FLAC file as WAV, I
get a lot of numeric (white?) noise from my SB3. When I convert the
FLAC files to WAV 48/24 with db power converter, they are transmitted
and played well on the SB3.

>From the specs, I guess SB3 shall support both WAV and FLAC in 48/24
format, and given my symptoms I would assume the issue would come from
the "on the fly" converter on the slimserver side. Do I have to install
some plugin to get this conversion done in slimserver? Or I am missing
something in the configuration?

In case you wonder why I would need ot transmit my FLAC files as WAV
instead of FLAC, I wouldn't have a definitive anwser, let's say at
least I want to be able to try by myslef if I can ever hear a
difference and be left with the option of choosing one or the other
solution. Note that I didnt try (yet) to transmit 44/16 FLAC files in
WAV format (as all my CDs were ripped as WAV).

Thanks
