No it's not. It's EXACTLY the level of whatever file you're playing.
Not only is the level the same, but every single bit of data is
numerically identical.

The _only_ way you could be getting a lower level is if some volume
control is being applied. This could be caused by:

1) equalization enabled during ripping (generally a bad idea)
2) replaygain is enabled and the files contain replaygain tags (disable
replaygain in Slimserver to test)
3) Squeezebox volume set not set to max (or fixed, which is the same
thing).
