The problem is as old as Usenet but is particularly bad here because people who come from the computer side and people who come from the audio side can have radically different assumptions about electronics. People who think that bits is bits will never agree with people who think that it makes a difference which species of wood you prop your speaker cables on. As this forum has shown, there are endless reasons why each can accuse the other of being wrong.
It would be nice if threads would respect the intent of the original post. If somebody asks what the best-sounding interconnect to use with the SB is, for example, those with cable suggestions to make could make them and those who think the question meaningless and misguided could sigh and move on to another post. Anybody who reads the forum is aware of these controversies, so it isn't really necessary to insert both sides into every thread. (Full disclosure: I prop my speaker cables on styrofoam. Does it make a difference? I dunno.) -- shyster ------------------------------------------------------------------------ shyster's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=9990 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=38041 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
