I guess the one reason where both sides of the debate should be heard is if it's a newbie asking if he should replace his Radio Shack cable with Monster Cable or the latest super-expensive boutique cable. If it's 10X the cost, it should sound 10X better, right? If the OP clearly believes that cables make a difference and it's obvious he has some experience in this area, a contrary opinion doesn't contribute much.
