Do you really need external storage? If not, an internal drive will be faster. Another option for an external drive is eSATA (external SATA) which is the same speed as an interna SATA drive, although it's not as universally portable as USB or Firewire.
With SlimServer, the only place you should really notice a difference in drive transfer rates is during library scans. The difference between using internal storage and a network share can be significant, particularly if the SlimServer machine runs Windows. I'd expect less difference vs. USB or Firewire. -- JJZolx Jim ------------------------------------------------------------------------ JJZolx's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=38314 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
