To simplify the whole issue lets put it this way... In future, a high quality mass production company like, for instance, EMI could decide that all of it's Jazz releases will be done in Stereo 24/196 and, unlike SACD or DVDA, virtually everyone will already own a player capable of playing the format. Whether that happens or not is anyone's guess but, unlike SACD or DVDA, at least there is chance with the hardware base already installed.
