I use the digital input from my computer for movie watching.
I've experiminted somewhat with MPlayer outputting sound to a PCM
stream over a pipe, which could be picked up by the TP. So that's
working without digital in, an SB3 could do the trick as well. Problem
is, you have no idea where the TP/SB3 really is with the playback, so
synchronisation is hard to get right. 
So that's why -> optical input.

Wireless is not an option. too slow, too fragile, too much interference
from neighbours, there's about 10 AP's around, visible if I put my PDA
up and let it searh for a connection. That's a slight bit more then
what I would like. 
So that's why -> everything hard-wired
