The 557 amplifier is a stereo amp that can be bridged for a mono
output. Because I have two of them I could run them in mono mode with
one powering each speaker. However I use them in stereo mode which
means I have 4 channels of amplification. This means that instead of
680 watts per speaker I am running 200 watts per driver (i.e. 200 watts
for left bass, 200 watts for left tweeter and so on). This is the way
the designers of the amp had intended it to be used.
In momo mode I could only bi-wire not bi-amp.
I don't know of the atc 100 you mention. The speakers I was talking
about are Called A.C.T. and made by a british company called Wilson
Benesch.
