I was going to raise the same question. This paper on RC by Meridian suggests that one should focus below 200Hz http://www.meridian-audio.com/w_paper/Room_Correction_scr.pdf. It also frowns on the equalisation type of RC that DRC does, because of clipping, pre-echo, etc. Consequently Meridian's RC only uses notch filters to reduce low frequency peaks due to room modes. Whilst I am so far impressed with InguzEQ/DRC (it at least tames my boomy sub) I would certainly like to investigate any tuning potential to a) focus on sub 200Hz, and b) to implement only notch filters (and not gain). Reading the DRC documentation it does suggest that the 'optimum' drc file is weighted towards the lower frequencies and does also talk about fine tuning, though not sure I understand it enough to pursue. -- mortod ------------------------------------------------------------------------ mortod's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4651 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=35615 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
