I've had no firmware or lockup problems on my Transporter. I started with 6.5.0 and upgraded every minor release, and am running 7.0 testing now. Sometimes I have had what I thought was Transporter trouble, but it turned out to be my access point being locked up.
It could be a new firmware interaction with your wireless.. if you're using wireless.
