Not much you can do without spending money. It's not a software setting problem, it's the little amplifier that's built in which isn't up to the job. You'll need a better amplifier, a small headphone amp would do. Or, in case you have several headphones, look and find some less demanding phones. (Grados need quite some power, and also are very revealing, so you'll be happier with something more basic for the time!)
