Any questions as to value are irrelevant - if it is the best-sounding
digital source available, then £9,600 does not seem an outrageous price
(indeed, good value?).

Since it is dealer set-up, I presume that they set up a PC for you and
the network. If it works with a NAS, would a Klimax+NAS+ethernet
switch system be enough? If so, it should work out of the box and not
need a geek to maintain.

Compare and contrast with Transporter:
- Digital inputs - who cares? All your music gets streamed to it, so
no need of other sources. Compressed DAB or DVD - who would pollute a
Klimax with such filth?!?

- Sound - I bet it sounds better than a TP! The CD12 was truly
special...

- Screen on the device - why does the screen need to be on the device?
Why not have a separate screen system, such as the remote? Or even a
dedicated wifi screen, to put wherever you like, communicating directly
with the server?

- Server software - I suspect this is about 4-0 to Slim Devices here.
The flexibility, ability to stream and communicate with multiple
devices and so on is very cool.

I bet that this increases sales of the Transporter, by 'legitimising'
to concept of HD streaming but with the TP being a sensible price.
It's now down to Logitech/SD to improve their product sonically and get
their marketing in gear.
