I'd always assumed that it was the DAC alone that determined a digital
device's sonic character, and therefore any two devices with the same
DAC should sound the same. However, when trying out a Moodlab Concept
DAC with my SB3 and my Creek Evo CD player, I found that the output
from the DAC sounds a lot better with the CD player than it does from
the SB3. Can anybody tell me why this might be? Could it be a
compatibility issue between the SB3 and this partucular DAC? Or does
the quality of digital outputs vary from device to device?
