I also found that while the combo of DAC-1 and Sonus Faber made great
recordings alive, the combo doesn't hide crappy recordings and bad
engineering.

Perhaps the worst case was buying CSN&Y's Four Way Street, which I
fondly remember from ancient times. Its great music but unlistenable,
they sing out of tune, off beat, the recording distorts and is over
driven, bletch
