sounds like the preamp/receiver might be the culprits here,what kind of transformer do they use?.i used to have terrible system hum annoyingly coming thru' my speakers.my Linn Preamp and amplifiers used toroidal transformers,so i got a friendly sparks to put in a separate spur which kindof helped. after changing my preamp and ampflifiers to(Linn Akurate Chakra 4200's/Bonnec Timpano) i now have a completly quiet background and no fatigue listening to 50hz coming thru' my Kabers. good luck in tracing this one down.
