+1 on this. Even the mini audioengine2's have too much bass, which is surprising for the form factor. It's enough that I actually equalize the bass down a bit going into them (on a top component system I don't use any equalization at all, which I expect is normal for high-end audio enthusiasts). The 2's are also a bit thin in the mid-range, most noticeably at low volumes.
