In the end it comes down to what sounds good to your ears and mind.
Trust that, not what a review or somebody else owns or says. The key is
to listen to every speaker you can in the price range you have. The one
your mind and ears like will stand out because it is "your choice". The
dealer’s taste in music might not be yours so the other components in
the system could be making them not sound good to you. If they are a
good dealer, have them switch components or even bring yours in (but
not on a Saturday).

This may not be the cause of what you’re hearing, but there is audible
smear in the midrange and lower treble caused by the dual drivers
surrounding the tweeter. This always happens whenever multiple drivers
for the same audio region are used (no matter where they are
positioned) due to no two drivers being perfect or for that matter
identical. The reason for using them is to make the speakers more
efficient and double the power handling at the expense of some smear
(classic speaker design tradeoff). This does not apply in the lower
bass frequencies so do not sweat it if anyone has multiple bass drives.
There is also the disadvantage of them not being Time and Phase
Coherent.

They are still a wonderful speaker in the under $3500 market! They also
blend that WOW they look cool factor into your listening area with the
grills off. Out of the three people I know that have them, not one pair
has the grills on!
