Err, this is not to say that it's not a nice unit, I'm sure it is, but
for quite some time now I would much rather have separate units doing
dedicated tasks very well rather than all-in-ones that do their tasks
passably (and if they don't do a task well at all, it's not like you
can remove it and upgrade it.)  I'd have separates if the budget
allowed it.  It does not.

And I do currently own and have bought many receivers over the years. 
They're not bad and if you look around you can find some very good ones
- for example the Marantz 8400 I now have sounds very, very good.  But
if it were up to me I'd break everything out into a pre-pro with a true
analog bypass like the Bryston SP 2 along with beefy amps, monoblocks if
at all possible (again Bryston fits the bill here).
