I'll pick option one. Really. I've always liked music when it was on and had cds for the car, but was never a music lover.
That is until I went to buy a HT setup and happened across an arcam on focals. I have no idea what I've been listening to all my life - sound maybe - but not music. I immediately wanted to shut down all the surrounds and listen to 2channel. Yes, I'm buying the squeezebox for convenience, but I'm also trying to build the system I heard on a budget. Cambridge instead of Arcam, Bostons instead of Focal, squeezebox instead of a 2k transport. Oh, I'll get my system eventually, but I'd rather listen to Lyle Lovett (and did!!) on repeat - pulling out the layers and subtleties - than plop in my "goto" bands. Lyle is now in my library, and if I had that dream system, so would many other musicians I thought I hated. -- DEV0 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ DEV0's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=14169 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=40553 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
