This is a project I put together for the bedroom. May be interesting to
others. My objective was good sound in a sleek package.

It uses an SB3,a NOS DAC, and a gainclone amplifier, all with separate
powersupplies. I use Felix's ampswitch plugin to turn off the DAC and
Amp powersupplies in standby, and also to switch between a linear
supply for the SB and the standard switching one(this is good for lower
standby power consumption).

There is no analogue volume control per se. I selected two volume
levels attenuated by resistors and use a relay to switch between the
two from a button on the back. Otherwise I use the digital volume
control. This keeps the volume level in 70+ levels with each of the
nighttime and daytime setting.

Originally, I wanted to use a SB2 because the board form factor better
suited this enclosure. However, gently bending the display 90 degrees
from the SB3 board also works well. Then you can remove the connector
boad for easy soldering of inputs etc.

I planned to use only wired, but it turns out the wireless also works
fine with no external antenna. For good measure I built in a noise
suppression capacitor across the AC, and added a Littlefuse Metal-Oxide
Varistor for surge prtection.
