I've also been looking for a new amp and speaker combo to go with my transporter. I agree somewhat that any new amp should be atleast tested with a new speaker setup. I disagree that you you have to perfectly match every single speaker and amp combination.
Unless you're going with some esoteric speaker like a Magnepan that has a very below average impedance, or another speaker that has a very high impedance you should be able to find a reasonable amplifier that will drive the majority of speakers properly. Things I have been looking for in an amplifier: * Balanced input * Reasonable power output 50-150 WPC. I don't need 300 WPC, I live in a small place, no large suburban rooms here. * Smaller size, decent looks, has to meet WAF requirements. Now to go waaay off topic.. Holy crap, I tried to goto Vienna Acoustics website.. and was blown away by some terrible slow popup flash thing.. I gave up after about a min of loading the damn thing..
