OK, I bought the CD.  It sounds significantly better...  but still a
bit grating, and I'm definitely not satisfied with the way hard rock
sounds.  I'm going to experiment with some inguz filter/equalizer
settings; I'll report back if I have any success.  But first I'm going
to turn RC back on - since I recently changed speakers (and they're
still not in their final configuration) I haven't had it on, but I
think it's time to re-measure and set it up again.
