I had exactly the same impression, and my cd-player is far cheaper than yours. BUT, after a few hours, the SB3 is getting better! I really can't explain why, I wasn't a burn-in believer, but now I am. I am a electronic engineer and I still can't explain that. Believe me, give it a try for a couple of weeks.
