Has Sean really said precisely that? While we've spent countless hours arguing on this forum over how audible jitter is, the fact is it does exist and it is measurable, and it can in principle influence the sound of a badly designed external DAC. It seems quite unlikely that the digital outs of SB3s and SBRs have identical jitter spectra.
