What is the output format for the specific DVD you are listening
(probably button 'audio' on the remote)? Make sure it's not DTS, needs
to be something like 5.1 or 2.0. Also, recheck that your digital output
format is switched to PCM, and not to RAW.

Other than that, I get the sound you describe on my DAC when trying to
oversample 48 Khz signal - not sure if  transporter can even do that.
