Mine is simply connected to the pre/power via xlr's Wireless, you should also look at the Isotek mini-sub and the sigmas as a very good alternative to the hydra, they are quite popular in Europe but im not sure they are in the US market... The inclusion of the min-sub to my system was heavenly, probably my best purchase since it made all my equipment sound as it good as it should, good luck searching...
