It's called lossless not "lossless". On other words, no quotes. It is literally lossless.
If you hear differences, and I believe you do, there must be some other reason (more/less network traffic or more/less processing on board or placebo effect). They are surely not due to the format itself. As for SACD vs CD I recommend some of the earlier posts which discuss mastering vs format.
