My experience is that the disk format is of minor importance. If you really want to test the difference, go to Linn an buy the same sond in high res and normal CD format. I'm sure that you will hear a difference but this is only why the original master is of excellent quality. Unfortunately you don't get this normally. I think that you here 99% mastering and 1% format.
